Barbecuing
Please do not place the barbecue on the wooden terrace (fire hazard), but on the adjacent lawn. You are welcome to purchase a barbecue from our reception.
Dogs and other pets
Pets may only be brought along with the express written consent of the operating company and must be declared at the time of booking. Dogs must be kept on a lead within the park in accordance with the dog ownership regulations. Please keep your dog on a lead at all times within the holiday park and use the specially designated dog beach (fenced-off area) in Wendisch-Rietz. Plastic bags for disposing of dog waste are available at various dog waste bins throughout the park and free of charge at reception.
Heating in the holiday homes
Every house has electric underfloor heating in the living room (part of the room) and in the bathroom. In very cold weather, the underfloor heating is not designed to heat the house on its own, but only to provide additional warmth. In addition, every house has electric radiators. Each radiator consumes 2000 watts per hour and is therefore quite expensive to run. We recommend heating with firewood; to do this, turn the heating down slightly – but do not switch it off. This is more cost-effective and efficient. You are welcome to purchase firewood from us at reception.
Homes with gas heating are fitted with fixed radiators equipped with thermostats.
Equipment & Group Tours
Please check that the house’s inventory is complete upon arrival (even our staff may overlook the odd item) and report any missing items to reception within 24 hours. Please note that for group bookings, each property has its own inventory, and upon handover, the inventory must be found in the respective property. For a fee of up to €50.00 (depending on the effort involved), a housekeeper will carry out this service for you.
Internet
In many of our holiday homes and apartments, you can access the internet free of charge using your own laptop. (We’d be happy to provide information regarding Wi-Fi availability in the specific holiday homes.) We cannot guarantee constant availability, compatibility or security. Most holiday homes have a Wi-Fi connection provided by ‘Ferienpark_Scharmützelsee’. Simply accept the terms of use on the welcome screen and you’re ready to go. Alternatively, you can find the login details on the router or in the information folder in the house. (This varies depending on the property.)
Wood-burning stove & ash
The wood-burning stove creates a cosy atmosphere and helps you save on electricity. You can collect a basket of firewood from reception. Please do not place any objects on the stove or in its immediate vicinity!
Instructions
: Please use only well-seasoned wood for heating and do not burn paper or other materials in the wood-burning stove. Please note that embers may remain in the ashes for up to 24 hours after the stove has been used.
Lighting
the fire Ensure that the primary air supply is open. Move the switch to the ‘open’ position. This allows air to be fed into the fire from below. Please also check that the flap in the flue for the secondary air supply is open. To do this, move the lever on the flue to the vertical position. This allows the smoke to escape! Place the firelighters and kindling. Arrange the logs around them. Light the firelighters. Only add more logs once the flames have completely died down and only embers are visible. This prevents smoke from escaping when you open the stove door. Please open the door slowly to avoid draughts. Once the fire has been lit, regulate the heat by adjusting the amount of logs added. In strong winds, the draught may be affected. Please be patient until the draught in the chimney is restored. You can tell that there is sufficient draught by the rising flames.
Please dispose of the cooled ashes in the ash bin on Seerosenweg or at the end of Strandstraße. Please use the metal bucket in the storage room for this purpose.
Travel cot, high chair and safety guard
You can hire a travel cot and a high chair for a fee at reception in Wendisch-Rietz.
Fridge
Please set the fridge to the desired temperature using the control knob. In some homes, the switch is located under the light strip inside the fridge.
Campfires, tents & gazebos
Campfires and the erection of tents and gazebos are not permitted anywhere within the holiday park or on the beach.
A good night’s sleep & noise levels
Please ensure that you observe the quiet hours from 10.00 pm onwards. Please be considerate of guests in neighbouring properties and bear in mind that many children go to bed much earlier. You should also keep the noise down during the day – radio, music, etc.

Key
You may receive a maximum of two keys per holiday home. If a key is lost, we will charge you €50.00 per key.
running costs
Please use electricity and water sparingly. This helps protect the environment and saves you money. The relevant meters are freely accessible in your holiday home and can be checked at any time. The electricity and gas meters are located in the storage room next to the front door, and the water meters are in the downstairs bathroom under the washbasin. Please note that, for safety reasons, charging electric vehicles is strictly prohibited.
Whirlpool
For additional disinfection, we recommend cleaning the hot tub with chlorine tablets before and after use. These are available from reception for €0.25. Please do not use the hot tub as a bath, as soap residues can block the jets.
Notes & Instructions:
The hot tub is thoroughly disinfected and cleaned before each new group of guests arrives. Every time the hot tub is used, dirt particles and bacteria enter the water and the circulation system, where they multiply rapidly in the warm water. The risk of harmful bacteria can be prevented if every guest contributes to good bathing hygiene by following the instructions below.
Before bathing,
wash yourself with soap in the shower. This reduces the amount of dirt in the hot tub by a factor of 200 compared to someone who has not washed. Let water run into the hot tub until the water level is 5–10 cm above the side jets. Please add a chlorine tablet whilst the water is running. Avoid direct skin contact with the tablet. Run the pump for approx. 1 minute.
After bathing
: While the water and air massage is running, add one chlorine tablet per bath user to the hot tub. Circulate the used bath water for about 1 minute before draining it.
